Police in Nakuru are investigating reports by the family of a murdered woman following a series of phone calls from her stolen phone.
While speaking to journalists, family spokesman Evans Kibet disclosed that family members as well as friends on her phonebook have continued to receive calls from her phone a week after she was brutally killed.
The 32-year-old woman was murdered alongside her 63-year-old father at their home in Rongai, Nakuru. The assailants also defiled the woman's 10-year-old daughter.
Daughter gave passwords to attackers
"When we pick the calls they don't speak. When we call back thy switch off the phones.
"Several people have called us over the same. It is tormenting to receive a call from someone you know is dead and the person making the call remains mute," Kibet relayed.
The dead woman separated from her husband six years ago and moved back home to live with her father. The family was not aware of anyone who would have wanted to harm her.
The spokesman told reporters that the 10-year-old gave phone passwords to her attackers which enabled them to access the phones.
"The girl was in great shock after witnessing the gruesome murder of her mother and grandfather and later being defiled.
"She told us the suspects forced her to disclose PIN numbers of the two phones that are now being used to torment us," he elaborated.
Senior Investigations Officer Dorcas Cherui conveyed that the police are tracking down the suspects behind the calls.
