DP Ruto finally comments on David Murathe's attacks

Deputy President William Ruto on Friday finally issued a response to David Murathe's recent attacks concerning 2017 Jubilee party nominations.

Murathe claimed that the DP had been involved in creating scuffles in some regions to ensure his preferred candidates got nominated.

During his Chatham House address, Dr Ruto was asked by a Financial Times correspondent to respond to the claims.

"I have not esponded to Murathe's comments in Kenya and I will not do so on this platform.

"Let me also add that Murathe is free to pursue any course of action he deems fit and I am ready to address any accusations brought against me concerning my present and any future ventures," DP Ruto's brief response stated.

Proposed changes in Government

DP Ruto's address to the institute entailed a proposal to effect changes to the government.

He voiced his support for a parliamentary system of government that would have an executive President, a prime minister, and an official leader of opposition.

Dr Ruto, however, did not express any commitment to having a referendum in Kenya saying that the decision for a referendum before the next General Election is a topic worth discussing.
