David Ndii’s comment on Uhuru being taken to rehab sparks trouble

Daring man

NASA strategist David Ndii on Monday put himself in the line of fire after claiming President Uhuru Kenyatta should be taken to an alcoholics’ rehabilitation centre.

Ndii, who is a sharp critic of the Jubilee regime, claimed that President Kenyatta “seemed to be an alcoholic” who should not be in State House.

“Turning up drunk to work daily is ground for dismissal. If as it seems is an alcoholic, he should be in rehab, not State House,” Ndii stated.

Rachel Ruto is no stranger to making bold yet elegant fashion statements, but during the state visit of the Dutch royals on March 18, 2025, it wasn’t just her outfit that stood out—it was her shoes. The Kenyan First Lady stepped out in a pair of brown suede block heels adorned with a gold emblem.

The statement was followed by quick reactions on Twitter, attracting more than forty retweets within ten minutes after being published.

NASA leader Raila Odinga's son, Raila Junior, responded swiftly stating that, "First step to recovery is admitting there’s a problem".

Many of those who responded criticised the Oxford-educated economist for his unrelenting attacks on the President.

Ndii's blunt response

“Hahaha....you sound soo desparate.....prof we just have to ignore you.youve lost your respect,” Jospat123 stated.

“David with due respect, why do you insult your brother all the time?” @murage888 replied.

Ndii did not shy to confront his critics.

One user challenged him, “I think you should take him to rehab alone to show you brave enough”.

The NASA strategist responded bluntly, “he has a mother”.
