President Uhuru Kenyatta has dismissed claims that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) was meant to create a position for him after his second term.
Speaking on Wednesday, President Kenyatta reiterated that he will go home at the end of his second term in 2022.
Uhuru exuded confidence that the Building Bridges Initiative will sail through, terming those opposed to the initiative as con men.

Solutions to challenges
“We will be back with BBI very soon. Let no one lie to you that it is about politics,” President Kenyatta said.
He urged Kenyans to be wary of naysayers and asked locals to ignore politicians misleading them on the initiative.
President Kenyatta further stated that political ambitions should not blur leaders on the need for solutions to challenges ailing the country.
“If there is a legacy I want to leave, it is that of unity so that no more blood is shed because of politics,” the President said.
