The burial of deceased businessman Tob Cohen has been postponed after the requisite number of priests failed to show up.

Cohen's burial was scheduled to take place on Monday afternoon at a Jewish cemetery in Nairobi.

Cohen's Wife Sarah Wairimu and his brother Bernard Cohen, who were organising the ceremony, only managed to get eight priest, falling short of the ten priests and a Rabbi - that are mandatory for a Jewish burial to take place.

The burial was postponed to Tuesday afternoon to give the family time to look for two additional priests.

Rachel Ruto is no stranger to making bold yet elegant fashion statements, but during the state visit of the Dutch royals on March 18, 2025, it wasn’t just her outfit that stood out—it was her shoes. The Kenyan First Lady stepped out in a pair of brown suede block heels adorned with a gold emblem.

This is the second time that the ceremony has been postponed after a similar postponement on Thursday last week.

The Thursday burial failed to kick off after Wairimu barred Chiromo Funeral Home from releasing Cohen's body to the deceased's sister.

The family later agreed to involve Wairimu, one of the suspects in the tycoon's murder case, in the burial ceremony that was to take place today.

On Monday morning, Wairimu's lawyer Philip Murgor, obtained a court order allowing his client to be temporarily released from remand prison to attend the burial service.
