ODM Chairman John Mbadi on Tuesday night recalled how he and other aides serving former Prime Minister Raila Odinga were embarrassed during the transition period following the 2013 general election.

Mbadi had served as the assistant Minister in the Prime Minister's office which was based at Harambee House Annex.

After the 2013 election, the position of Prime Minister ceased to exist and the office was allocated to the Office of the Deputy President and was assumed by the incumbent - William Ruto.

Mbadi claimed that Ruto had breached protocol and ordered documents belonging to Odinga's officers be trashed.

Poor transitions were also reported during after the defeat of Kanu in 2002 where some former ministers found their personal items including clothes being displayed in public board rooms when they went to clear.

The ODM MP made remarks during a debate with Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen regarding the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) which recently completed a report that is yet to be made public.

Mbadi said he was more experienced in the running of government while insisting that a referendum was inevitable, berating Murkomen as one who "has never been in government". The Senator opined that there would be no referendum.
