Rioting Traders on Thursday morning burnt tyres and blocked the road near Yaya Centre to protest the demolition of their kiosks by the Nairobi County government.
The structures, located near Yaya Centre on the busy Yaya Ring Road, were demolished on Wednesday night by the officers, without any notice.
The rowdy traders disrupted Traffic flow on the busy Yaya Ring Road . Police officers manning traffic advised motorists to use alternatives roads to avoid being caught up in the fracas.
According to the traders, they were shocked to finds their structures demolished without Notice.
In 2015, the County government of Nairobi Under Dr. Evans Kidero ordered demolish of structures erected outside churches, mosques, learning institutions and social halls.
The former Governor said some kiosks outside the institutions provide cover for criminals to monitor movements and plot attacks.
