Top British Singer Ellie Goulding lands in Kenya for high profile duty

Goulding is attending the UN National Assembly amongst other key guests

Top British Singer Ellie Goulding is in Kenya to partner with United Nations as their New Environment Global Goodwill Ambassador.

Goulding who is attending the organisation’s National Assembly amongst other key guests, visited the Giraffe Manor and Maasai Mara where she experienced life amongst locals and learnt more about issues affecting wildlife.

The Hit maker of “Love Me Like You Do” took to her Instagram account to share her Kenyan moments.

“I’m delighted to announce that I have become a UN Environment Global Goodwill Ambassador. Thank you to  head for making it official . All witnessed by Ed the giraffe (he’s pretty special. Only 800 of his species left). ­­­­­­Feel very honoured”  reads Ellie Goulding post

The singer is aiming at inspiring young people to take on activism on clean air, having struggled with asthma in her life.

“Inhaling this dirty air is slowly killing people – often women and children in the case of indoor cooking. I saw this first-hand in the Maasai village, and was so pleased to be able to contribute clean cookstoves for all the huts in their village. I want to do whatever I can to make our air cleaner by working with UN Environment to inspire action to address this crisis.”  said Ellie Goulding
