It is easy to miss the signs that your job no longer suits you. Sometimes you don’t realize, or don’t want to, because you are in some sort of a comfort zone that suits all your needs so you end up coping with it.

If you are not constantly learning and growing your resume, your network and your confidence, then it's high time to seek out new challenges and learning opportunities.

Here now are five signs that your job might be killing you:

1. You are working too much

Nothing burns good employees out quite like overworking them as it often feels as if they’re being punished for great performance

Recent studies have shown that regular overtime is associated with unhealthy weight gain, depression, and increased alcohol and tobacco consumption.

Working for too long will lead to a burnout and soon enough you will reach your limit.

When that feeling of being almost completely out-of-gas becomes the norm on any given day, then something needs to change.

2. You’d rather be doing anything but your job

Your mind always seeks to escape your current situation or else it will collapse.

At some point, you end up recalling other opportunities you let go, which sounded awful when you turned them down, but now they look like heaven.

3. You’re yearning for the weekend every single day

You have been miserable from Monday to Thursday then boom — its Friday!

The only moment you feel a glimpse of happiness is when you realize that today is that day of the week, and you’ve got two complete days to finally be you.

However, you still feel trapped since that little break didn’t do too much to give you that rest.

Some people may even stress about work and go into the office to get a few things done before Monday.

4. You hardly concentrate at work

Studies have shown that even periods of short-term stress can have an effect on parts of the brain responsible for learning and memory.

Lack of concentration and boredom kill general productivity and inhibit mental clarity.

People are quitting their jobs at rates not seen in two decades.

<h1>Emabakasi East MP Babu Owino has expressed concerns over a looming arrest by the police despite a court order barring them from doing so.</h1>

Speaking to the press on Wednesday, Babu Owino said he has resorted to camping inside Parliament as he fears police officers are waiting to apprehend him outside the buildings.

Owino decried the arbitrary arrest of leaders saying that he is still innocent until proved guilty by a court of law.

An arrest warrant issued earlier on Monday against the MP was lifted after he presented himself to court alongside his bodyguard.

Senior principal magistrate Martha Mutugi had issued the warrant in the case where the two are charged with assaulting a guard.

They told the court they could not appear in the morning as they were attending to another court case in Kibera.

The legislator was arrested on January 20 for allegedly assaulting the parking attendant at Fortis Plaza in Westlands, Nairobi. The duo was also charged for using abusive language and creating a disturbance.

The court had earlier lifted a warrant of arrest order against the MP.

Babu Owino takes action after revealing police plans to arrest him

<h1>Four suspects have been arrested in connection to the murder of a world-renowned ivory investigator who was killed at his home in Kenya.</h1>

Nairobi Police Chief Japheth Koome said the four were apprehended on Monday afternoon to help with investigations regarding the death of Esmond Bradley Martin.

"We have the four suspects in custody," Mr. Koome said. He however did not give further details as to their identities or suspected role.

Esmond Bradley Martin, one of the world's leading ivory trade investigators living in Kenya, was on Sunday found dead in his house at Langata, Nairobi.

The 75-year-old, who was alone in the Nairobi house, had a stab wound in the neck.

His wife, Chryssee Martin, said she found her husband's lifeless body after coming from a nature walk at around 4pm.

Esmond has authored several ground-breaking investigative reports on rhino and ivory smuggling in Kenya and the trade in China, Vietnam, and Laos.

He was said to have been working on his latest report on the rhino and ivory trade by the time of his death.

The renowned ivory detective had been travelling around the world alongside his wife and colleagues in a bid to identify ivory and rhino markets, the traffickers and the modern-day uses.

Among his achievements was helping persuade China to shut down its legal rhino horn trade in 1993 and ivory trade last year.

Esmond was on Sunday found dead in his house at Langata, Nairobi.

Four suspects arrested in connection to murder of ivory trade investigator

Notices of power interruption from Kenya Power are perhaps not a new thing to Kenyans except when they are directed to owners of private residences.

One SK Macharia may be familiar with this when he was publicly notified of an impending power interruption at his residence in Kiambu County. The billionaire and city mogul got the special notice on the power blackout scheduled for Monday between 9am and 5pm.

And while these notices only focus on general regions, estates and shopping centres, this notice had one peculiar location; the residence of SK Macharia.

A Twitter user noticed the special mention of Mr. Macharia’s residence and shared it online.

According to the ongoing investigations by Police officer who are looking into the matter, the initial plan was to burn the dormitory on August 31, some two days after students reported back to school from home.

Details have emerged of a five-member WhatsApp group extracted from the lead suspect’s phone, which show the incident was planned during the holiday.

According to the phone details, the 14-year-old girl was categorical that she intended to burn the school for a variety of reasons among them her hatred for the institution which she had been struggling to leave.

In the WhatsApp group, the five members, all students at the institution discussed the incident.

The suspect in police custody, according to the thread was more vocal and seemed irritated.

“I will burn the school,” reads one of the messages.

Another says, “I will burn the school because my parents refused to take me to (names of the school withheld). I want to do something that will shock them.”

The suspect is also said to have a passion for writing, a fact she has also admitted.

“She has been writing about magic and cults…disturbing material,” said detective who talked to Capital FM news.

Detectives privy to the ongoing investigations say sanitizer, a cleaning detergent and perfumes were used to intensify the fire which worrying details revealing it started in multiple places.

The fire started in four different places within the crowded dormitory, named Kabarnet, and according to a report by Kenya Power, it was not the result of an electric fault.

Laboso said the Supreme Court ruling has provided a chance to confirm the county is a Jubilee zone.

“We are now going to show the country that our people still support the UhuRuto administration and that NASA in Bomet can be reduced to zero,” she said.

Laboso urged the three MCAs elected on the CCM ticket to join hands with their Jubilee colleagues and support her in building the county.

Laboso said she will focus on providing water. She said the African Development Bank will fund Sh2 billion water projects.

Real change has no price

There is something about true real change; you cannot simply buy it no matter how much money you have. Its impact and transformation on one’s life can never be quantified even by its weight in gold.

Just like there is no currency for paying salvation (Kupanda Mbegu is not salvation, it is daylight robbery) all one is required to do to be saved is to believe, there and then shall they be set free.

And Kenyans too believe in a better tomorrow where fairness and just will reign supreme, where Otieno, Chepkangor, Mwangi and Wafula will not be judged by the pronunciation of their second name but by their character and skills.

And if that Kenya requires us to dip into our pockets and contribute say 10bob, 50bob or even a million shillings, why not?

We all need to make sacrifices for a better tomorrow, voting is sacrificing your time and comfort, reading a party manifesto requires you to sacrifice your limited time just like listening to your favorite politician and defending them requires your energy and time.

Sacrificing financially to support our collective dream is not any different.

The good book is full of accounts of downtrodden and poor as church mouse individuals who readily gave away their last penny, who were ready to strip naked to cloth fellow men and women who were stiff with cold.

True leaders inspire change not buy loyalty

Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King and Malcom X to mention but just a few are legends, celebrated until today years after some departed to the next world.

These leaders are famous not because of their deep pockets but how their rose from humble upbringing to inspire change.

There are countless tales of how Martin Luther King was housed and fed by fellow oppressed blacks, same as Mandela whom economically disfranchised Africans housed and funded to liberate South Africa.

What is my point? A leader should be judged by their ideas and capacity to inspire change and confidence in every one of us to be better Kenyans, to be more patriotic and to be hardworking. That is what being a leader stands for, pure and simple.

Furthermore ‘Canaanites’ must understand that they are dealing with a bottomless well-oiled campaign machinery from Jubilee, and truth be told NASA cannot flex financial muscles with Jubilee.

However that does not mean NASA cannot beat Jubilee hands down, only through the ballot box is a poor voter from kondele slums in Kisumu equal to a filthy rich tycoon at the slopes of Mt. Kenya.

Africa is the richest continent on earth yet it still lagging behind in terms of development and wealth creation, Africa is poor not because it lacks rich ‘thugs and gangs’ to led us and splash our wealth for the entire world to see, no we are behind because we lack visionary leaders who are willing to be accountable.

That is the difference between Africa and the west and it is high time we correct that difference by voting in ‘poor’ leaders who are willing to be accountable to the public by kindly requesting for their assistance through their hard earned taxes to achieve a common shared goal.

Kenyans must be wary of politicians who want to turn them into modern day economic slaves whom they splash billion of unaccountable funds now to entice and even intimidate to vote for them before they come back after elections to demand their pound of flesh.

How do we repay them you ask? By keeping mum when they loot our coffers dry, by cheering them on when they condemn our children to life full of debt and joblessness, by not questioning when they repeatedly auction our future to the highest bidder and indeed nodding and urging them on when they come to rape our mother’s sisters, brothers and fathers.

Jesus had all the power to transform the whole world into one huge palace decorated with all the rare minerals on earth.

But what did he do, he choose to live simply instead sometimes from hand to mount like millions of Kenyans who yearn for a better Kenya which NASA is laying foundation.

When Satan tempted him to change stones into bread just like filthy rich Kenyans can afford to change their Miami sourced wardrobes with a wave of the hand Jesus answered.

“It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone”

And so Kenyans too shall not feed on Jubilee ill-gotten goodies alone, our hunger for a fair Kenya supersedes all that.

Remember money is not a must in an election but we do live in interesting times where resources have to be used to achieve a certain task, that is reality and we cannot escape from it.

The practice of sourcing campaign funds is not unique to Kenya, established democracies like the US and the west all conduct fund raising and are required to account for every penny.

I am not advocating for blind loyalty where one is forced to contribute and no effort is put to explain how the funds were used, BIG NO, Kenyans must demand for accountability, all I am saying is if we all chip in and contribute according to our means we can make the Canaan journey worthwhile and shorter for everyone.

NASA must understand our generosity is not gullibility.

Why we should all dig deep into our pockets for Canaan voyage 'fare'

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday afternoon hit the campaign trail just hours after the Supreme Court invalidated his election win and called for fresh polls in 60 days’ time.

His first visit took him to Burma market, Nairobi where he, alongside other Jubilee leaders, urged residents to maintain peace and shun tribalism as Kenya should remain united.

Seeing that he has already hit the road running with the campaigns, the Head-of-State on Saturday announced that he would tour three other areas.

They include Kiambu, Narok and Nakuru counties where he plans on meeting people at their homes, markets and towns.

Even as Uhuru kicks-off his campaigns, <a href="http://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/local/supremecourtdecides-uhuru-rejects-supreme-court-ruling-id7245000.html" id="af24274c-7627-5908-90de-7f8ff55e130f">he has since differed with the Supreme Court’s decision</a> to nullify the results saying that “a six bench judge cannot subvert the will of millions of Kenyans.”

“[Chief Justice] Maraga and his thugs have decided to cancel the election. Now I am no longer the president-elect. I am the serving president… Maraga should know that he is now dealing with the serving president,” he told his supporters at Burma market.
