Polycarp Igathe resigns as Nairobi Deputy Governor

Igathe said he had failed to earn the trust of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

Speaking on Friday Evening when he resigned Igathe said he had failed to earn the trust of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

“ I have failed to earn the trust of Governor to drive admin at the City County” Igathe said

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko picked Igathe as his running mate last year in May when he was the Vivo Energy boss .

There have been signs of cracks between the governor Mike Sonko and Igathe with the political rumour mill hinting of a bitter fallout.

The two have gone to great lengths to try and portray a united front but that has not helped calm the situation.
