Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has irked Kenyans on social media after hurling insults towards President Uhuru Kenyatta and his mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta.
Speaking during a campaign rally, Babu called Kenyatta mtoto wa mbwa which in English loosely translates to ‘son of a bitch’.
The legislator who is a former student leader of Nairobi University stated that President Kenyatta must be ejected from office just like some world-class leaders who he quoted in his address.
“If Gaddafi was removed from power by the Citizens…who are you? You are a son of a bitch,” Babu said referring to President Kenyatta.

His remarks sparked furor on the internet with many wondering why he was insulting the president and subsequently the former First Lady.

The newly elected MP was criticized over his statements with many opining that he does not have a moral authority to address the president.
At the same time Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria called for the arrest of Babu. He urged Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet to immediately apprehend him.
"Ndegwa Muhoro, Joseph Boinnett, Francis Ole Kaparo and Keriako Tobiko. I still hold you in high regard. The cell number 4 at Pangani which has hosted me frequently is waiting for Babu Owino. I trust this will be done today to save me unnecessary time, effort and resources tomorrow," he posted on Facebook.
