Controversial Embakasi MP Babu Owino on Monday issued a rather worrying request to the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF).
Owino took to his Facebook account where he made a statement that called on KDF officers and members of the Kenya Police to take sides in the ongoing confrontation between NASA and Jubilee.
The Embakasi East was speaking in apparent reference to the ongoing instances where police have been accused of using excessive force against NASA demonstrators.
“I call upon the police and army not to watch as their people are being killed by the two tribes. Wake up and support your people,” Owino stated.
The statement came as civil society groups released a list of 33 people who have died in the hands of police in Nairobi County alone, for the past five weeks following the August 8 election.
On Friday, four people were shot dead after the attacked a police station in Bondo during the anti-IEBC protests.
