Details of Lupita Nyong’o’s new deal with Jay-Z
Lupita has landed a mega-deal with Beyonce’s husband…
The huge announcement was announced by Marcelo Claure (C.E.O of Sprint Corporation) and the album will be called 4:44, his first since Magna Carta Holy Grail which was released in 2013.
The album is expected to drop on June 30, 2017 and it will be exclusively available for TIDAL and Sprint subscribers. This major release comes a few months after TIDAL and Sprint signed a new partnership granting Sprint a 33% stake in TIDAL.
Jay-Z shared a teaser for the new album which is a 30-second clip of a new black and white music video called Adnis.
Its stars Mahershala Ali (the first Muslim actor to win an Academy Award) Danny Glover (from The Color Purple) and in the credits we see something surprising, Lupita Nyong’o’s name.
The Oscar winner is expected to be part of the new album but we don’t know what role she is playing yet but it is amazing to see Lupita making such big moves.
Music connoisseurs suspect that this could be a visual album like Beyonce’s Lemonade or a companion short film. I guess we will have to wait and see on June 30.
