Former K24 News anchor makes debut at BBC

She was sacked at K24 while pregnant with twins

Taking to social media, an excited Ms Ngugi shared the good news of joining BBC Swahili (Nairobi Bureau) as the host of the Dira Ya Dunia programme.

“Started New job at BBC Swahili” shared Anne Ngugi.

Before Joining BBC, she was working with Christian TV station, MBCI TV, after being sacked at K24 in 2014 while five months pregnant with twins.

“I was sacked by Mediamax when I was five months pregnant with twins. I never imagined losing a job like that. I always thought that I was in control, but it happened. I have moved on from that. It was a learning experience,” she once said in an interview.

It is a big comeback for Ngugi, who had also anchored for KTN during her successful journey as a journalist.
