Rock 'n' Roll legend dies at 90

Fans and fellow music stars all joined in the tribute to the rock 'n' roll legend who had a great influence on the genre.

Rock n roll legend, Chuck Berry has been reported dead at his home in Wentzville, MO, after an unsuccessful attempt to resuscitate him.

St. Charles County Police Department, Missouri gave a confirmation of his death via its Facebook page.

The deceased died on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the age of 90, marking the end of a successful music career.

Regarded as the father of rock 'n' roll, Berry inspired a great following for the genre with timeless songs which will be fondly remembered even after his death.

His popular tracks include 'Maybellene' (1955), 'Roll Over Beethoven' (1956), 'Rock and Roll Music' (1957) and 'Johnny B. Goode' (1958).

Notable world stars such as Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen and many of his fans have joined in the tribute to the late musician.

Jagger wrote on Twitter, "I am so sad to hear of Chuck Berry's passing. I want to thank him for all the inspirational music he gave to us. 1/3."

In a tweet posted today, Springsteen described the deceased as rock music most devoted player bearing in mind his influence on the genre.
