Citizen TV’s Joey Muthengi has become a topic of discussion after stepping out rocking the famous shirt-dress and fans were quick to judge that it belongs to former Harambee Stars midfielder McDonald Mariga.

A user identified Keithy Humphrey commented on Ms Muthengi’s photo on Instagram, stating that the shirt-dress the TV girl was wearing belongs to Mariga.

“Hii shirt ni ya Mariga” wrote Keith Humphrey.

Ms Muthengi reacted to the comment with laughter emoji’s, laughing off the allegations that she had borrowed the shirt from Mariga.

“Also...just see my life.... Guess that's why they call it a boyfriend shirt?! No?  LOL. Ok. Generally speaking tho... it's FASHION, right? (See previous post)” wrote Joey Muthengi.

Muthengi recently penned down a lucrative deal with Betin Company as their brand Ambassador alongside McDonald Mariga.

The two starred in a Betin ad where they play the role of husband and wife, an ad that has become a hit with Kenyans due to its hilarious and relatable nature.

Their on-air chemistry made some people who think that it translates off air and that the two are an item.

Her recent trip to Italy also sent tongues wagging but Joey has made it clear that the only kind of relationship she has with the footballer is professional.

“No. We are not dating. The Milan outing was a business trip with a betting company (the billboards are up in Nairobi). Mariga is a very good professional friend of mine and our trip to Italy was purely work,” said Joey told Pulse Magazine
