Citizen TV’s Swaleh Mdoe’s is mourning his father Ali Buki, who succumbed to throat cancer on Sunday in Malindi, Kilifi County.

News of the patriarch’s death was broken by Swaleh’s aunt at around 12:40 pm.

“He has been sick for some time. He had been residing in Mombasa with his family before he was moved to Malindi where the elder sister resides. For the past one month he has been in Malindi and on Tuesday this week, he was discharged from Malindi hospital. Today at around 12:40 I was called by my aunt who informed me that my dad had passed away,” Swaleh told Classic 105.

Alex Mwakideu lost his mother on Tuesday

This sad news comes days after another media personality was bereaved. The cruel hand of death struck the Mwakideu family at around 3pm last Tuesday and took his mother months after his sister passed on.

The sad news was shared by his co-host Jalang’o on Wednesday when explaining to their Milele Breakfast show listeners why Mwakideu had not reported to work.

Jalang’o who was with Mwakideu at the time of his mother's passing commented “Last evening, I looked at my brother Alex Mwakideu tears flowing freely. I knew how much you loved mum! Brother accept my condolences to you and your family! Mambo ya mungu hayana makosa. Let mum rest! God above everything! Rest in Peace mama. Go well! It is well! Count on me this difficult time”.

Alex Mwakideu later put up his first message following the sudden demise of his mother.

In the post seen by Pulselive.co.ke, Mwakideu admitted that he was totally lost, with no words to describe what he was going through following the death of his mother.

“For the first time... Am lost. Totally lost. Totally. I don't know what to type, what to do, where to start... I am lost. I will miss you mom. I will miss you so much. And I will love you forever. Thank you for being the BEST mom EVER. Rest with the Angels.. #RIPMom,” read Makideu’s post.

Mwakideu’s sister Rozinah also shared a series of photos on Instagram mourning their late mum.

“Mama, Mao wapo Mkundwa wapo, Mghenyi wapo, Angolo wapo..Lala salama. We shall sing together again. Rest now, in perfect peace. Nakukunde” read Rozina Mwakideu’s post.

Josh Ryna Mwakideu mourned his grandmother saying “All the laughter & all the fun we had... I will cherish those moments for the rest of my life, I love you Grandy and I'll miss you so much. #itiswell #BestShoshever”.
