Country music legend is dead at the age of 78

The singer's PR team confirmed that he died "after a short illness," saying that funeral arrangements are pending.

The country music Hall of Famer who found his musical identity back in the 1970's with a unique and low-key style of country, passed away on Friday, September 8.

Don Williams is popular for hit tracks such as "Your my best friend," "I believe in you," to name a few.

He will be sorely missed. May his soul rest in peace.
