New year comes with a new job

​Former Citizen TV News anchor Janet Mbugua’s husband is a lucky man after 2018 begins with him landing a new job.

Eddie Ndichu formerly worked for Kenya Commercial Bank Group as Head of Digital Services and Mobile Payments.

In his new job, Eddie Ndichu will serve as Opera’s Managing Director as well as Vice President for Fintech Africa as Opera opened an office in Kenya.

In his newly appointed role at Opera, Ndichu will oversee the development of micro-lending, remittances, payments and transaction capabilities using improved technologies in mobile and the internet.

“For years Opera has been investing in bringing fast and affordable internet access for all. For this reason, I am honored to be part of the team that seeks to grow together with the African internet ecosystem,” Said Ndichu.

Digital economy

The Opera Kenya office will serve as East Africa’s hub as the company seeks to invest more in Africa’s digital economy.

“This appointment is the first step in the company’s plan to have a Kenyan Office which will become the East African hub,” Read the statement from Opera.

Eddie Ndichu and former Citizen TV news anchor Janet Mbugua got married two years ago in a lavish invites only wedding held at Chaka Ranch in Nyeri County.

The twin brother to Grace Msalame’s baby daddy Paul Ndichu now becomes the first Kenyan to take up the Job at Opera.
