Comedian Idris Sultan ordered to report to nearest Police Station after photoshopping President Pombe Magufuli

Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Paul Makonda has ordered comedian Idris Sultan to present himself to the nearest police station, after photoshopping President John Pombe Magufuli.

In a statement on his official Instagram Page, Makonda pointed out that Sultan should respect boundaries in his quest to entertain his followers.

“Naona mipaka ya kazi yako huijuwi. Nenda sasa hivi kituo chochote Cha polic uwambie Makonda kaniambie nije utakuta ujumbe wako. @idrissultanreads an order from RC Makonda.

The photos in question, Idris had insinuated that he was able to switch jobs with President Magufuli, allowing him to celebrate his Birthday on October 29, 2019 without any pressure or disturbance.

“Kwa siku moja tukabadilishana kazi ili a-enjoy birthday yake kwa Amani” wrote Idris Sultan.

However, Makonda’s order was heavily criticized by many, arguing that Idris is a comedian and he should be allowed to express himself.
