Inooro TV reporter Victor Kinuthia promoted day after going viral

To new things!

Royal Media Services journalist Victor Kinuthia

Inooro TV reporter Victor Kinuthia has been promoted just a day after going viral following his Monday night coverage of MP Ndindi Nyoro’s arrest.

Announcing his new role, Kinuthia said that he will be reporting on Citizen TV’s mid-morning show Sema na Citizen.

In his post on Facebook, Kinuthia said that although he had been bullied online, his colleagues and Kenyans had reached out and he felt encouraged.

I almost gave up when I found myself trending all over after yesterday's 9 pm news. But after receiving calls and texts from my bosses, colleagues, friends and fans I must say am encouraged. Boy child rising! Tupatane Sema na Citizen,” he wrote.

This will be an additional role to the young reporter who has been RMS vernacular station Inooro TV reporter.

Trolled

Victor Kinuthia went viral after online trolls bashed him claiming that his command of the Queen's language was poor during the live reporting of the protest that broke out in Murang'a on Monday night after MP Nyoro was arrested.

His bosses and colleagues from the Royal Media Services came to Victor’s defense insisting that it was not easy for one to do a live link, including experienced reporters and news anchors.

I’ve done this for 21 years and I can tell you it’s no walk in the park. Victor found himself in a breaking news situation and gave it his best- his first live report of that kind. He’s destined for greatness. Truly proud of him,” said the RMS Editorial Director Joe Ageyo.
