Comedian makes it rain at Big Kev's fund raising event (Video)

For more than 6 years, Big Kev has been battling a very aggressive brain tumour that has had him in and out of surgery about 14 times.

Jalang'o

Last year, the belligerent benign tumour reared its ugly head once again and this time it came back with a vengeance and after a lifesaving surgery, Big Kev was left blind and paralysed on one side.

A condition that could leave any person hopeless but not Big Kev who still maintains a sunny disposition and unwavering faith despite his tribulations. And it’s his steadfast courage and positivity that has also encouraged members of the showbiz fraternity to come together and raise money for him.

This was done through a black-tie event held at the carnivore Restaurant along Lang’ata road. Industry heavyweights like Shaffie Weru, Redsan, Jalang’o, Ian Mbugua, Robert Burale and others came to raise part of the 20 Million Kshs required for his surgery. And through their efforts, the efforts of family,well-wishers, friends and relatives, the event managed to raise 7.2 Million Kshs in the 10,000 Kshs per person event.

Jalang’o who was one of the Mcees for the night donated 87,000. Money he got in twenty minutes thanks to his friends.

“Me and a few of my friends in less than 20 minutes have raised 87,000 Kshs… can i count?” he asked the crowd who told him yes.

Noticing the money was too much to count one by one, Jalang’o said “Wacha sasa nihesabu mbili mbili.” Much to the amusement of the crowd. (Let me count them in twos)

This is from a Whatsapp group called "I Love 254 Music.” He said acknowledging the efforts of those people that helped him raise the money.
