Former KTN anchor Joy Doreen Biira welcomes Baby number 2

Congratulations Ms Biira

Joy Doreen who works as the Advisor and strategic communication officer at the Ministry of Mining, shared the good news via her social media pages, stating that she had been blessed with a baby boy.

In her post, Doreen revealed that she was lucky enough to have been handled by the same doctors who helped her deliver her first child.

“To coincidentally have the same doctor, midwife and nurse who delivered your first child years ago, on duty when having the second, is one of the luckiest feelings... like Gods plan. Thank you to all  staff for the hospitality (literally), Dr. E. Kimotho, Sister Edna Kaburu and all support staff at the maternity/labour wing for being such hardworking and experienced medics and for safe delivery. above all thank God for being in control of it all, as we welcomed baby  on Wednesday. John 16:21 - When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. ” shared Joy Doreen Biira.

The news of her pregnancy was shared in an interview with True Love Magazine. In her September 2017 interview, the mother of one divulged that she was three weeks pregnant. “I cannot believe that it’s actually happening I’ve always wanted two babies and I guess this is God’s answer to it.” She stated.

Joy Doreen Journey in Media

Ms Biira Joined the Standard Media Group in January 2012 as a news anchor and reporter with KTN.

Last year January, Ms Biira was picked as East African Reporter for Deutsche welle (DW) covering environmental issues and exciting solutions from Africa and Europe alongside their main host from Nigeria, Nneota Egbe.

Despite this lucrative deal Joy Doreen Biira was still working with KTN.

Journalistic journey

The Ugandan journalist started her career as an intern and was later employed as a week day Morning Show co-host at NBS Television with Shawn Kimuli, broadcasting at the network’s headquarters in Kampala, Uganda.

In 2008 she relocated to Kenya to work as the weekend Breakfast Show at Capital FM.
