Larry Madowo summoned at CID headquarters

What has he done?

According to letter sent to the CEO of Nation Media group by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (formerly CID), the said interview had statements that incited people to violence which was in contrary to the law.

The Director of Criminal Investigations then went on to ask the Media house to avail the interviewer Larry Madowo so that he could come and assist in the investigation and record a statement.

In a social media post, Larry said that NTV will be issuing a statement on the matter later on.

"DCI wants me to record a statement about my interview with David Ndii. For our position on this, watch NTV tonight." Larry wrote.

In the said interview Mr Ndii highlighted that NASA had filed a petition challenging the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for declaring Kenyatta as the winner.

He also said there would be a call for mass action.

“We will call for mass action. That is a definite.” Ndii said.

“Mass action in this country is code for violence, the protests turn violent, they turn chaotic, there are people dying…the last time a mass action was called 1,600 people died in Kenya,” Larry argued.

“We have been calling for mass action since 1991 and we will not stop as long as some people try to restore dictatorship,” Ndii said.

“Even if people die in the process?” Larry asked.

Ndii then answered with “Even if I die.”

“You don’t think that is very reckless?” Larry asked to which Ndii replied with “No. We will not live in a dictatorship willingly.”
