The president visited his wife at her ward before heading out to visit the former Tanzanian cabinet minister Ambassador Ramadhani Mapuri who is also admitted to Muhimbili National Hospital.
This comes as surprised to many who did not expect the first family to visit a public hospital, at least not to get treated.
However, president Magufuli has ensured to better the National hospital after he broke up the governing board of the facility after discovering the main scanning and diagnostic machines were not working and after seeing patients sleeping on the floor due to lack of enough beds.
His actions have challenged most African leaders who opt to fly their families abroad to receive treatment where else they can get the same medical care in their countries. Our own politician, Isaac Ruto is rumoured to be receiving treatment from eye specialists abroad.
The Tanzanian leader thanked the doctors for their dedication the patients. Below are a few photos showing his visit at the hospital.
