Lupita Nyong’o named among Hollywood walk of fame honorees
She is among the 2019 walk of fame honorees.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce released the Walk of Fame class of 2019 on Monday and Lupita was among those selected in the film category.
Among others in the category were Alan Arkin, Kristen Bell, Daniel Craig, Robert De Niro, Guillermo del Toro, Anne Hathaway, Tyler Perry and Gena Rowlands.
In the television category: Alvin and the Chipmunks, Candice Bergen, Guy Fieri, Terrence Howard, Stacy Keach, Sid and Marty Krofft, Lucy Liu, Mandy Moore, Dianne Wiest and Julia Child (posthumously) will receive stars along Hollywood Boulevard.
As for the recording group the honorees included: Michael Bublé, Cypress Hill, the Lettermen, Faith Hill, Tommy Mottola, Pink and Teddy Riley. Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris will also receive a star together for “Trio,” and Jackie Wilson will be honored posthumously.
For the live theater and live performance category: Idina Menzel, Cedric the Entertainer, Judith Light and Paul Sorvino will be recognized in the live theater/live performance category.
Lupita’s nomination was met with mixed reactions with some feeling like it was too soon for her to receive a walk of fame star while other actresses who have been in the industry longer than her did not have one.
Others were excited for her to receive the star.
The dates have not yet been set for the ceremonies.
