Meet Kaka Empire's latest signee, Lykarose

Kaka Empire a successful and popular artiste management label recently announced its latest signee, singer LykaRose. The 20-year-old singing sensation has been working on projects with the label since January 2019.

Lyka, as she is fondly referred to, was discovered during the Kaka Empire online and on ground auditions late last year.

The striking songstress has a beautiful voice and offers something different by mixing urban, pop, and vernacular lyrics. The student and self-trained personal fitness instructor has been performing at campus shows for two years. Her fans describe her as having the perfect mix of energy and skill during her performances.

The news was announced on social media by Kaka Empire, in the behind the scenes video, Kaka Empire officially announced the promising songstress, welcoming her to the winning team. "We are looking forward to presenting one of Kenya's female stars to the world. Kaka Empire signed Lyka because she displays such unique talent, discipline and hard work”

Having sung for crowds and gatherings since she was a child, Roseline Boro aka Lyka has confidence and songwriting ability that not many can match.

Ever since Lykarose started singing in church and school from the age of 7 years old, she knew that music is what she was destined to pursue. And this is what drove her to try out for the Kaka Empire auditions that were held in 2018.

The minute the Kaka Empire management team saw her perform, they knew she was something special. Consequently, she was signed to the management and record label in January 2019.

Having hailed from Limuru, the 20-year-old Business and Economics student in Maritime Management is determined to make a name for herself as one of Kenya’s top acts.

Lykarose’s style of music is described as afro-folk, she writes her own music and she incorporates Kikuyu in most of the pieces that she composes, thus the name folk.
