Former KTN news anchor Nancy Kacungira given new show at BBC

Ms Kacungira joined BBC in 2017

Announcing the changes in her work schedule at BBC, Ms Kacungira revealed that she has started hosting a new show dubbed “World News Today”.

“New month, new show, new challenge! I’m enjoying presenting  at 1900 GMT on weekdays over the summer. From North Korea to Iran to Zimbabwe and the US, the programme covers all the major global events” shared Nancy Kacungira

Checkered career

In August last year, Nacy shifted her gears from KTN and joined the British owned media house based in London

“This Ugandan girl will be making her presenting debut on Focus on Africa in a few minute. Sooo…I've made the big move and started a new role with the BBC based in London. Look! They rolled out the red carpet for me! Well, it wasn't really for me but that's a minor detail. I'm excited about this amazing journey God is taking me on, for his glory." Wrote Nancy Kacungira.

In 2005, Kacungira was awarded the BBC World News Komla Dumor Award.

The award was set up in honour of presenter Komla Dumor who passed away in January 2014, and aims to continue Komla’s legacy by celebrating African journalism and finding exceptional talent.
