In August last year, Nacy shifted her gears from KTN and joined the British owned media house based in London

“This Ugandan girl will be making her presenting debut on Focus on Africa in a few minute. Sooo…I've made the big move and started a new role with the BBC based in London. Look! They rolled out the red carpet for me! Well, it wasn't really for me but that's a minor detail. I'm excited about this amazing journey God is taking me on, for his glory." Wrote Nancy Kacungira.

In 2005, Kacungira was awarded the BBC World News Komla Dumor Award.

The award was set up in honour of presenter Komla Dumor who passed away in January 2014, and aims to continue Komla’s legacy by celebrating African journalism and finding exceptional talent.
