On Twitter, users sent out cold and mean tweets about their marriage using the hash tag #BeforeWambuiMarriedBob.
Here is a sample of the tweets:
Team Raila @team_raila:#BeforeWambuiMarriedBob Bob Collymore the Most Corrupt CEO in the World
Trans Analyst @TransAnalyst: #BeforeWambuiMarriedBob Bob Never used to Appear Negatively in News, Nowadays Bob Trends negatively all the time @WambuiKamiru
Munene @muneneofficial : #BeforeWambuiMarriedBob He wasn't a scandalous man; misfortune has been befalling him day after day. What could be up?
Bel Akinyi @BelAkinyii: #BeforeWambuiMarriedBob Safaricom had one CEO now they're 2
Thankfully instead of cowering down Wambui has spun the hash tag into something positive by using it to extol her husband of one year in a series of tweets.
In addition, she also praised Bob for being chivalrous. While some women would have frothed up with rage at the thought of their husband offering another woman his jacket on live TV, Wambui appreciated how gentlemanly her Guyanese hubby was.
“#BeforeWambuiMarriedBobWambui may never have believed that chivalry is certainly not dead.” Read the tweet.
The tweet is a reference to when Bob handed over his leather jacket to a freezing Betty Kyalo during a news bulletin where the news anchor had chosen to get on set with a flimsy dress. Despite Betty’s protests, Bob put the jacket on her leaving her blushing on TV.
