This was due to ‘unforeseen circumstances on the side of the organizers of the event.’
We have now come to learn that the event will not be happening altogether due to security reasons that stopped Zari and her team from jetting into the country.
A statement issued by TEFO Africa founder's Moranga Innocent disclosed that the recent political developments in the country were not ideal for their international speakers such a Zari Hassan.
“Following consultation with the local authority, the police and Zari Hassan’s management it was determined that the political developments in Nairobi and the effects of the activity that will be happening at the airport, Mombasa Road and in town that same day have proved possible to pose a risk to our international speakers that were to arrive at the airport that day, guest and attendees that were due to attend," the statement read.
The organization went on to reveal that they have come up with an alternative date which would be communicated once they take into account the political climate, availability of speakers and the general security.
The political development in this situation is believed to be the arrival of opposition leader Raila Odinga after one week in the U.S.A.
Odinga arrived in the country on Friday morning aboard a Kenya Airways flight and was escorted from JKIA through Mombasa Road by hundreds of his supporters.
