Nasa MP beaten in public

Fracas ensued at a funeral over the weekend.

Details have emerged that Shinyalu Constituency  MP Justus Kizito, was over the weekend attacked by goons, allegedly hired by former area MP Anami Lisamula to frustrate him.

There was an ugly confrontation when Mr Kizito was about to take the stage in a burial ceremony as rowdy youth pounced on him, preventing him from addressing the crowd.

The hired crowd, allegedly by Mr Lisamula, booed the legislator and that is when chaos erupted.

”I was about to address the mourners when Lisamula’s goons pounced on me,” Mr Kizito said.

In the fracas, dozens of mourners were forced to flee, interrupting the send of ceremony.

”Lisamula himself did not beat me. However, it is a pity that a leader of his stature can cause chaos at a funeral,” he added.

The MP together with the injured mourners were taken to hospital for treatment, and later discharged. Meanwhile, Lisamula has denied any wrong doing.
