Jubilee Senator mocking message to Raila over political career

Raila earlier said that his political career will end after Jubilee is defeated.

Elgeyo Marakwet and Senate Majority leader has wallowed yet again into the murky Raila Odinga’s retirement waters, hours after the former Premier spoke of his political future.

Taking his mock message on Twitter on Sunday, Senator Kipchumba Murkomen argued that the real beneficiaries of a Mr Odinga retirement ‘package’ would be his allies Musalia Mudavadi and Kalonzo Musyoka.

“The only person who is interested in the retirement of Baba [referring to Raila Odinga] is Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi,” Mr Murkomen tweeted hours after Mr Odinga met and spoke to his supporters in the highly polarized Kawangware slum on Sunday.

Earlier, former Nasa presidential candidate and leader of National Resistance Movement Mr Odinga told a mammoth crowd in the outskirts of Nairobi that he “will quit politics after sending Jubilee home”, despite the slimmer chances with the pan of politics after the repeat polls.

“Do not look at somebody's age. I will retire not because DP Ruto has said so but I will do so when I want to. When I have finished my work I will go without anybody telling me to do so,” Mr Odinga said on Sunday.

He added: “Those who are talking about age are idiots.”

The Senate Majority leader, who was recently in a scuffle with a section of Nasa MPs at Panafric Hotel in Nairobi over Raila scuttling utterances, opined that Mr Odinga is in fact not quitting politics, adding that he will have to face Deputy President William Ruto in the 2022 general elections.

“William Ruto welcomes the candidature of Raila Odinga in 2022,” Mr Murkomen tweeted to his nearly 350,000 followers.

On his part, Uhuru Kenyatta’s avid lawyer Mr Ahmednassir Abdulahi penned that Mr Ruto welcoming Mr Odinga in the seemingly would-be tough 2022 race is an underestimation.

"William Ruto Welcomes the candidature of Raila..." is an understatement Senator...William Ruto prays for Baba's candidature in 2022...is more apt,” Mr Abdulahi tweeted.
