Narok man hangs himself to death after suspecting he contracted HIV/AIDS

He opted to take his own life rather than live with the shame

A man in Narok County is reported to have committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree branch in his compound.

The resident of Simotwet village, Transmara East is said to have been the father of one child whose gender is yet to be revealed.

Confirming the incident, Ololmasani sub-location Assistant Chief Richard Bett said that the unidentified man reportedly decided to end his own life after suspecting that he had contracted HIV/AIDS.

The incident shocked the area residents as well as his neighbors who said that he was still a young man.

Chuka University

In another suicide case, Chuka University was gripped by a somber mood when it emerged that one of their students had committed suicide. Kevin Mugendi Warui, a second-year student hanged himself from the roof using a rope.

The second-year student allegedly took his own life after a love affair went south.

Meru South OCPD Saiya Baraza said the Computer Science student left a six-page suicide note that pointed to a relationship gone sour.
