Man bites off finger of police officer and swallows it

Johnson quickly swallowed the finger before officers had the opportunity to recover it.

A police officer was left with a permanent injury after he was bitten by a man who was arrested.

According to police in New York, 34-year-old Ainsley Johnson bit part of the officer’s left middle finger inside a Brooklyn police station on Friday night.

The incident occurred when Johnson resisted being handcuffed inside the precinct.

Swallowed

Johnson and the 24-year-old officer got into a scuffle while he was being escorted to a cell in the 69th precinct and the two fell to the ground.

That is when Johnson bit off the officer’s middle finger from the nail to the tip. The police said that Johnson quickly swallowed the finger before officers had the opportunity to recover it.

The 24-year-old officer was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Rape

Johnson was initially arrested for allegedly kicking the back door and the windows of a man’s BMW. In addition to the vandalism charge, Johnson was charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

Johnson also allegedly destroyed the victim's mailbox with a cement planter.  He has a lengthy arrest history having been taken into custody for raping a woman in Queens in 2008.

His other previous run ins with police relate to driving without a license, forgery and resisting arrest.
