Jubilee presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta has extended a hand of friendship to NASA candidate Raila Odinga after being declared President elect.
Addressing the the Nation at the Bomas of Kenya, Kenyatta urged Kenyans to maintain peace stating that he was ready to work with Odinga.
"I would like to thank my worthy competitor Raila Odinga and extend a hand of friendship. We are citizens of one country," Kenyatta said.
He added, "To those who have lost we say ‘we live to fight another day. Elections come and go but Kenya is here to stay. Let us remember that we are brothers and sisters. Let us be peaceful; reach out to each other, reach out to your neighbor, shake their hand."
Kenyatta was declared the winner after garnering, 8,203,990 votes against NASA Presidential candidate Raila Odinga's 6,762,224 votes.
