Good makeup requires some skills. But you don't really have to have a face beat every day, a simple, basic but good look will do for your every day look and perhaps a more defined and popping look for a night out or special occasion. Lucky for us, there are so many YouTube tutorials even for beginners and one can easily learn how to do their makeup by simply following those tutorials. Still, it's not enough to just know how to beat your face, you do need the right products for a great finish. One thing that most ladies fail to understand though, is that less is more. Makeup is only meant to enhance your beauty and features, not give you a whole new face. Please avoid these makeup sins:

1. Wrong foundation shade.

When you apply foundation, your face and neck should at least match. Before buying foundation, it's important to test the shade, and many ladies make the mistake of testing it on the back of the palm, which can be darker than the face, thus confusing you. You need to test the foundation on your face. If you buy your foundation from a renown makeup store, the consultants will assist you in picking the shade that's perfect for you, so if you do not know your shade, do not buy foundation online. And while still on foundation, do remember to apply just enough, too much foundation will leave your face looking cakey and if you do not blend it well with the right brush, you will definitely look like a walking disaster.

2. Un-blended eyeshadow.

Eyeshadow is one of the things I avoid when it comes to mkeup. I always feel like I look like a clown and cannot fathom how people walk out of the house in shouting pink glitter eyeshadow that's not even blended...C'mon, if you can't try to blend it or have no idea how to apply eyeshadow, just leave it out and stick to eye liner.

3. Over drawn/ over plucked eyebrows.

Brows that make you look like you're forever surprised, aka 90s brows are not cool; they should be left where they belong, in the 90s. However, boxy over-drawn brows are not cute either. It's so obvious that those are not your brows. In my opinion, makeup should look like it's your natural face, with just a little bit of enhancement. Ladies who use red eyebrow pencil...who hurt you? Buy brown eyebrow pencil that matches your skin tone. When lining the brows, only fill in the parts that need to be filled then brush the brows with an eye brow brush. Most people make the mistake of drawing over the full eyebrow which results into tacky brows and in all honesty, maybe no one has ever told you, but, it ain't cute. Sorry.

If you're going to invest in lipstick, do not buy something that will cause your lips to dry out and crack. Chapped lips are a turn off. Also, another mistake ladies make is applying lipstick on bare lips. Exfoliate, moisturize then go ahead and apply your lipstick. Stick to shades that complement your skin tone and go easy on the lip liner. Do remember that lip liner is supposed to match the lipstick shade. You don't wanna end up having a maroon lip liner and pink listick. It's not a good look.

5. Overhighlighting.

Ever since the highlighter craze took over the makeup world, people are now misusing it. Eish, just a bit of highlight on the cheekbones, nose and above the brows will do. Over-highlighting will make your face have more than one tone which may end up looking a bit off.
