4 home remedies for dry hair

These home remedies will condition your brittle, dried out locks, leaving you with gorgeous, healthy hair.

Dry hair can lead to hair loss and dandruff. Hair becomes dry when the hair shafts do not absorb or retain enough moisture, resulting in a brittle, lackluster appearance.

This can be due to use of harsh hair products and frequent use of heated styling tools or hair dye.

One basic beauty tip, "the stuff you can eat is the best thing to use on your hair". If you’re after glossy, nourished hair that looks strong and healthy adhere to these tips for best results.

Avocados are known as a super food because of all the vitamins, healthy fats and other nutrients that they contain and you have also probably heard of some of the beauty hacks that use avocado as an ingredient in too.

The vitamins, minerals and fats that avocados contain actually make them suitable for hundreds and hundreds of different beauty treatments, especially for the skin and hair

Mash a ripe avocado (pit removed) with one egg, then apply this home remedy to wet hair. Leave on for at least 20 minutes, then rinse several times. Repeat once a week for damaged hair and once a month for healthy hair.

Massage butter into your dry hair, then cover your hair with a shower cap for about a half hour. Shampoo as usual, and rinse all the butter out.

Olive oil is the most popular home remedy for dry hair. The rich vitamin E and antioxidant content present in olive oil help heal damaged hair by sealing the cuticle, or outer layer, with moisture. Olive oil can be used as a hot oil hair treatment to strengthen, add shine and restore moisture to very dry hair.
