Sometimes you get a fever and within a day, it’s over without visiting the doctor. It’s not always easy to decide when to see a doctor or when to wait a few days to see if the symptoms will disappear.

While some symptoms may not feel so serious, you should not ignore them. Here are some of the health symptoms you should never ignore:

1. Weight loss

Unless you have been working towards losing weight, you should be worried about massive weight loss. Extreme weight loss could be due to a serious condition such as cancer or even HIV.

2. Too much sleep

How many hours do you sleep in a day? According to experts, you should not sleep for less than seven hours and not more than nine hours. If you have been sleeping for like 10 hours or more and you still don’t feel like you have had enough, you could be battling with depression and you should see a doctor.

3. Persistent coughs

When you have a cold, it may be accompanied by coughs as well. However, if the cough persists for over two months, you should get checked.

4. Recurrent headaches

Sometimes you simply have a headache because you are dehydrated or due to sinuses. But you should be concerned when the headache does not go away even after taking pain relievers. Intense headaches could be a sign of meningitis or even a burst blood vessel.

5. Chest pain

Feeling too much pressure on your chest could be a sign of a heart attack. If the pain is accompanied by other symptoms such as shortness of breath and nausea, seek treatment soonest possible.
