Forget an engagement ring, people are now piercing their ring fingers

Would you give this new trend a try?

When wearing wedding bands was seen as too traditional, people decided to get tattoos on their ring fingers instead.

The latest trend however knocks getting a tattoo as a wedding band off the park.

People are now ditching their engagement rings and opting to pierce their ring fingers instead.

If you find having the entire band as cumbersome, you can simply pierce your ring finger and have the Diamond placed in the piercing.

Since the news of his passing, and with the arrival of his body in the country, the mourning for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been shaped by a blend of expressive national grief and deep-rooted cultural traditions. These customs, primarily from his Luo heritage, provide a framework for a communal expression of loss, honour, and farewell for a figure of his stature.

Piercing the ring finger

The ring finger piercing is not like the usual piercing that goes in and goes out on the other side.

A circle of skin is first removed, then using a pair of tweezers, a dermal anchor is inserted into the whole. The dermal anchor is what will hold the ring.

Basically, the ring is hanging on the finger.

There are also different styles of piercing the ring finger.

If the anchor is not placed deep enough into the skin, the piercing will start moving and if placed too deep, the piercing will grow over the skin.

Then there’s the fact that the piercing may get stuck in something and get pulled which can cause damage to the skin.
