Getting thicker
It may sound like an easy thing to do but it’s really not. If you are worried about being thin and feel like putting on some weight will boost your self-esteem, it may be time you make use of these tips:
1. Increase your portions
It sounds too obvious but there is no way you will put on weight if you are not eating enough. Some people eat less food due to health problems such as stress and loss of appetite. If that’s the case with you, talk to a doctor and get medication that will help boost your appetite. Eating more food however is not a guarantee that you will gain weight since thinness can be genetic.
2. More calories
People who are trying to lose weight are always avoiding calories by all means. On the contrary, you need to include more calories in your diet and ensure that you consume more calories than those you burn. However, ensure you only consume healthy calories such as starchy vegetables, fruits, nuts, whole grains, butter and olive oil.
3. Three meals a day
You want to gain weight, right? If so, ensure you have all the three major meals not forgetting the breakfast. Kick start the day with a nutritionally complete breakfast and eat to satisfaction. If you skip one meal, you will be reducing the number of calories that you badly need to gain weight.
4. Snack frequently
Taking one huge meal at ago may be challenging especially if you have only been taking small portions. Instead, eat little portions of food every now and then or ensure that you have some snacks with you all day.
5. More proteins
Proteins are very essential for gaining weight and muscle building. Eat more meat, eggs, dairy products, legumes and nuts.
6. Hit the gym
Since you are consuming lots of calories, you will need to hit the gym so that you do not end up getting fat. Remember the goal is to put on muscles and not excess fat. Hitting the gym, therefore, ensures that you do not accumulate excess fat.
