How well do you know your ovaries? See, your ovaries are not just there for producing the eggs.

Let’s have at look at some amazing facts about this pair that you should already know:

1. Number of eggs

Unlike sperms, a woman is born with all the eggs she will ever have. So if you were born with a million of them, at no point will they be more than that. Actually, the numbers keep on decreasing. By the time you are reaching menopause, you will have none left.

2. They love the pill

According to research, birth control pills have been found to lower the risk of ovarian cancer. What else would you ask of these birth control pills if they can protect you from cancer?

3. They change in size

Your eyes are the same size from the day you are born till the time you die. And many other parts of your body remain static. But for the ovaries, they change in size depending on the time of the cycle. Sometimes they will enlarge and other times they will become smaller.

4. They get stressed as well

Whenever you are stressed, your ovaries suffer it too. And when they are stressed, they do not release the egg. That’s why it’s important to avoid stress if you are trying to conceive.

5. They can contribute to your acne

They produce various hormones such as progesterone, estrogen, and testosterone. When there is an imbalance in these hormones, it can result in acne.
