Meet the sexy Kenyan model named 'Model of the Year' by Harper’s Bazaar (photos)

Kenyan-born, London-based model Malaika Firth made international news in 2013 after she was booked as the first black model in almost two decades to appear in a Prada advert.

The last black model to be cast by Prada was none other than the legendary Naomi Campbell in 1994, the year Firth was born, so now you see why it was such a big deal.

After Prada, Malaika went on to book jobs with Victoria Secret, Burberry and British online fashion and beauty store Asos.com.

Jobs which no other Kenyan model except Ajuma Nasenyana has picked. Now Malaika is now on to another first. She was named the model of the year by Harper’s Bazaar UK, making her the first Kenyan to do so. She also graced the cover and had a photo-shoot done by the popular UK editorial.

The shoot was done by photographer Regan Cameron, styled by Miranda Almond, hair done by José Quijano and make-up by Polly Osmond.
