5 types of boots that every girl needs in her closet (Photos)

Must-haves

Boots are a must-have, as you will need them not just for those days when it's a little chilly or wet, but also to complete a smart casual look of say jeans, a graphic tee and cardigan. Boots come in many different forms and there's a boot for every occasion. If what comes to mind when you hear boots is the knee length boots meant for the rain, you definitely need a little bit of schooling. That said here are types of bots you should have in your closet or, you should consider adding to your closet.

1. Chelsea boots.

I love love Chelsea boots on both men and women. The Chelsea boot is a fitting slip on ankle boot that has no laces but instead, has an elastic or zipper on the side and has no heel - just a sole, which makes it super comfortable. What I love most about the boot is that it can be styled in a plethora of ways, from skinny jeans, leggings, short dresses and skirts and even on nights out. You know those nights when you just want to dance heels-free? Grab your leggings or skinny jeans, pair them with a blouse, throw over a moto jacket and a crossbody bag and complete the look with Chelsea boots. I also like the fact that you can pair them with peeking socks and short dress for a nice boho-chic look.

2. Ankle boots.

The difference between the Chelsea and ankle boot is that ankle boots have a bit of a heel and can be either high heeled or block heeled. Ankle booties can also come in laces and in many designs, ranging from having fringe details to buckles. They're super casual and just like Chelsea boots, they can be styled in numerous ways.

For a dressed up look, go for a high heeled ankle boot instead.

3. Flat knee length boots.

For those rainy days, you definitely need great leather boots that will come in handy when it gets wet. There's nothing as uncomfortable as wet feet when it's raining. It's necessary to invest in a great pair of leather boots which you can wear with leggings and skinny jeans and jump over water puddles easily when the rainy season comes.

4. Sock boots.

This edgy mid-calf boot is still circling the fashion sphere and looks like it's not going anywhere anytime soon. From fashion icons such as Kim Kardashian and Rihanna, we have spotted the boot on fashionistas and it's quickly become one of the top fashion trends. The beauty of the sock boot is that it can be paired with pretty much anything from bodycon dresses, to joggers, short skirts, culottes and literally any outfit. If you prefer something that's a bit less fitting, you can also go a normal mid-calf boot which is also trendy.

5. Sexy thigh-high boots.

But of course, this had to make the list. A high heeled thigh high-boot effortlessly screams sexy. While there are many ways to style thigh high boots, I particularly like them styled when the upper thighs are showing, say with short shorts, a short dress, skirt or even boyfriend shirt. It's like a sneaky way of showing off too much without showing off too much...you get what I mean? Must-have these ones!
