Gikuyu and Mumbi would be proud
Ruracio is the formal dowry payment. The groom comes to the bride’s home with gifts and partakes in different activities and once they reach a final agreement, then the next step is Ngurario, which is the traditional wedding ceremony. Nowadays, most couples prefer to merge the ceremonies so as to save time. During the traditional wedding ceremony, even though it's not a must, most couples wear the Kikuyu traditional outfits - brown outfits bejeweled with cowrie shells.
One Kenyan couple decided to serve some serious Ruracio fashion with their outfits. The couple was joined by their three daughters who also were also trussed up in their pretty off shoulder tops and matching pants.
The outfits were courtesy of Bantu Kloset, a brainchild of celebrity couple, Kabi and Milly wa Jesus.
The clothing company is quickly cementing itself as the go-to for traditional wedding outfits and Ankara bomber jackets and their work speaks for itself. Have a look at the photos of the family that slayed their Ruracio outfits:
