5 things you should never pack when travelling
You may feel the urge to plan for the unexpected, but filling your suitcase a punch just-in-case items can be a bit of a burden. So, here's a list of what shouldn't go in.
You may feel the urge to plan for the unexpected, but filling your suitcase with a bunch of what-if items can really weigh it down. Chances are, you won't use every item in your suitcase. So, when planning your next trip/vacation, here are things to cut from your packing list because, at the end, these items wouldn't be worth the whole trouble.
1. Excess outfit
Although we all like having options and probably look different each day while away on a journey but often times than not, we end up coming back with a good number of outfits that ended up clothing our bags rather than our bodies. So, you really just want to pick just a few tops and wears that are practical and comfortable and that can be mixed and matched easily.
2. Too many denim
Denim is ideal for travel because it's versatile, long-lasting, and hides stains well and experts actually recommend minimal washing (once a month is ideal). This means you can get away with packing just one or two pairs and rewearing from day to day. Besides, it's heavy and takes up a lot of space, even when folded tightly. So, only a few will be more than enough.
Instead of bringing your entire toiletries bag, take advantage of the free stuff you can get at your hotel.
Toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, lotion, razors, mouthwash and more are usually provided in most hotels. Besides, some hotels also have a supply of deodorant, toothpaste, mouthwash, razors, shaving cream, feminine hygiene products, and even sewing kits. The secret is, you have to ask for it.
4. More Than 2 Devices
Well except you're travelling for business, you can probably make do with just a smartphone. But then, if you're considering other options such as an iPad, tablet or laptop, limit yourself to two at most because when you overpack gadgets, you find yourself constantly distracted by them or you end up not using them. So, why go with the excess?
5. Uncomfortable shoes
There's nothing as inconvenient as walking around in a pair uncomfortable and painful shoe.
So, you want to pack two or three of your most comfortable and versatile shoes like a good pair of walking sneakers, and one or two other pairs of supportive shoes that can be dressed up or down.
