1. Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery

It is a rigorous 6 year long course that demands a lot of attention from the student. It however is on very high demand. Students who successfully complete and graduate get direct absorption into hospitals countrywide.

Only those who perform exemplary well in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) get enrolled to pursue the course.

2. Bachelor of Pharmacy

The course is quite identical to Medicine and Surgery but takes a shorter time. The qualifications are as high as those of Medicine and Surgery. Job opportunities in the field are vast. Graduates are guaranteed of employment immediately they graduate.

3. Actuarial Science

Demand for actuaries in Kenya is very high due to the little supply there is in the market. The course is an emerging trend in Kenya. The course demands very good grades is you want to be eligible to pursue it. It takes 4 years of University education to qualify as an actuary.

4. Bachelor of Architecture

It takes 6 years to acquire a graduate degree in Architecture. The course is marketable because of the booming real estate development and general construction. Those interested in pursuing the course have to score an A- and above in KCSE.

5. Software Engineering

Technology is advancing exponentially and companies do not want to be left out of the bandwagon. Therefore demand for the course is on an all-time high. Many companies are employing software engineers or web designers to help them maneuver through the dynamics of an ever changing digital world. The course takes four years in University.

6. Civil Engineering

There is a growing demand for civil engineers in the country majorly owed to the growing infrastructure in the country. Successful graduates get absorbed immediately into the job market. However it is not all rosy because it takes 5 years to complete the course and with exemplary grades. Sometimes students have to burn the midnight oil in order to be able to complete the bulky assignments they often receive.

The course is an emerging trend and has few professionals in the market. Due to its growing demand, graduates who complete the course successfully in university, get absorbed into the job market almost immediately.

8. Bachelor of Education in Special Needs Education

The course is much more marketable than a degree in education because of the demand for sign interpreters and other special needs fields yet there are very few graduates in the field.

The course is both marketable at undergraduate and post graduate levels. Basic entry level professionals earn Sh75,000 per month.

10. Digital Marketing

It is an emerging trend in the industry and has been projected to grow in leaps and bounds to become one of the next big things in the world. As a result, demand for digital marketers is growing. Colleges are offering the course as a short course.
