There’s always that one ex that doesn’t understand the term ‘goodbye’. We’ve probably been here before ourselves and relating is easy, but people need to let go!
Dealing with an old flame can be exhausting both emotionally and physically. All the dodging, ignoring phone calls and resisting the urge to text back can take a toil on you. So instead of having to deal with a bad case of ex regrets and complications here are 10 ways to make sure your ex gets that you’re over.
1. Be clear about your feelings
The first thing you should do is make it clear that there is nothing going on between the two of you. This sets clear boundaries on how you expect him to treat and handle you. It won’t be considered cold to avoid his hugs or pet kisses, accepting such will only mean that you are still interested.
2. Don’t talk about your new man
It’s really not his business and even when you aren’t, it makes you look like you’re trying to make distance. You don’t need him talking negatively about your new boo, do you?
3. Ignore him
It feels way more mature to stop and politely say hi but that just leads to a lot of unwanted conversations. Unless he’s come up to you, then keep your distance and maintain indifference in your demeanor. If you couldn’t date, you can’t be friends. That should be the golden rule to live by.
4. Stop hanging out
It feels great rub it on their faces just how well you’re doing without them but trying to hang out with your exes makes you look like you still have feelings for them. Don’t lead a man on unless you want a stalker in your list of problems. Some are, and not the good type.
5. Chuck him off your social media
Unless you want to spend your evenings explaining to yourself to a jealous boyfriend, remove your ex from all your social media pages. You don’t want to risk a psycho who’ll write things like, “ I miss your lips” on your latest pics with the new guy. Cringe*
