This is after reports spread like bush fire that the electoral body together with the Jubilee party did not welcome the Wednesday morning ruling by Justice John Mativo, hence moving to appeal it
Pulse Live Kenya contacted IEBC Communication Director Andrew Limo who mentioned that he was not aware of any appeal.
Mr Limo divulged that IEBC Commissioners were in a critical meeting to resolve on the way forward.
After the meeting the Commission decided to include Aukot and all the other presidential candidates who were in the August 8 General Election
President Kenyatta also welcomed the High Court decision despite earlier statement by lawyer Tom Macharia who noted that Mr Kenyatta was set to appeal the decision to include the Thirdway Alliance candidate in the race.
In his judgment, Judge Mativo instructed IEBC to include the lawyer in the much-awaited poll.
Mr. Mativo noted: "The fresh election in the current context should involve all the candidates who participated in the annulled election”.
Aukot moved to court to challenge IEBC decision to only include President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga in the fresh elections.
This was after the Supreme Court ruled that the re-election of Mr Kenyatta was null and void.
According to the apex court, the elections were plagued with illegalities and irregularities.
