According to reports, 10 others were rushed to Machakos Level 5 Referral hospital after they sustained serious injuries, in the accident that involved a 14-seater matatu.
Mwala Sub-Couty Police boss Ronald Kirui said the matatu that operates under Kinathi Sacco lost control when one of its tyres burst and it overturned.
Bodies of the deceased were taken to Machakos Level 5 Hospital mortuary.

“The driver lost control of the vehicle after a tyre burst and the vehicle veered off the road and overturned, occasioning injuries, three of them fatal,” the police boss told the Standard.
Kirui further stated that the accident occurred at Ghetto area, a few kilometers from Wamunyu shopping center.
