Three suspects have been shot dead in a botched robbery attempt in Karatina Town.

According to area police boss, James Barasa, two pistols were recovered in the Sunday morning incident.
Four rounds of ammunition were also recovered
“We have recovered an AK-47 rifle and a homemade pistol capable of firing. Three of the robbers were shot dead but others managed to escape,” said Karatina Sub-County Police Commander James Barasa.
Further reports say that the robbers engaged the police for hours before they were overpowered.
The suspects are said to have been in a gang of ten men when they stormed an entertainment joint and tried breaking into the cash office.
An employee then raised alarm and police on patrol responded forcing the armed robbers to flee through neighbouring houses.
